Our history
Jim, the owner of Planet Guitar, has been immersed in the world of guitars professionally since 1997. His journey began at Wing Music under the mentorship of Barry Mitchell, where he honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of the music industry, guitars and guitar repair. Over the years Jim has repaired instruments for several stores across South East London, Kent and Surrey earning a reputation for his meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail.
In 2013 Jim took a significant step by founding Planet Guitar, driven by his passion for guitar and commitment to providing exceptional service. With a wealth of knowledge accumulated over decades, he has become a go-to expert for guitar professionals, hobbyists and enthusiasts seeking repairs, modifications and advice. Jim's dedication to his craft is evident in every project he undertakes, making Planet Guitar a trusted name in the local music community.

- Planet Guitar is NOT a musical instrument retailer. We are solely a repair workshop. We do not buy or sell other manufacturers guitars. We only sell guitars handmade by us.
- All visitors to the workshop MUST book an appointment. We can not accept "walk-ins" under any circumstances.
