Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I pay for your services?

You can pay for lessons or repairs by cash, cheque or credit/debit card. We accept most cards but please check with us first. Lesson payments can also be made by BACS.

Can I just drop my guitar into you?

Because of the nature of our business and the fact we are not a store, appointments must be made if you wish to bring your guitar into us. You can call us, email us or book a slot on the website.

How long will the repair take?

This all depends on the type of work required and how busy we are. For the more basic jobs we generally aim for a week turn round time.  For more challenging work it will be more like two weeks plus. We will always keep you posted on progress should the work take longer than we expected.

Is my guitar safe when with you?

We treat all guitars with great care and respect and have been repairing guitars for nearly two decades. Your guitar is fully insured when it's with us and  the workshop is fully alarmed.

Can you travel to my house to teach me?

Due to logistics all lessons take place at Planet Guitar's studio.

Do you teach all ages?

We teach all ages from 6 upwards.  Although we may recommend that younger children try ukulele rather than guitar, as it's a smaller size and would be more comfortable for them.

I don't own a guitar  can you provide one for me?

Yes we can provide a guitar for your lesson, however, we strongly recommend buying your own instrument. You'll need something to practice on in between lessons. We are more than happy to advise you on purchasing a guitar.

Can I stay with my child during the lesson?

Of course, you are more than welcome to remain with your child for the duration of the lesson. If you would prefer to leave during the lesson please be assured that your child is in a very safe environment, we hold an enhanced DBS check and have public liability insurance.

I need to re arrange/cancel my lesson. Is this possible?

We are extremely flexible but we do require at least 24 hours notice for all changes to lessons. If a lesson is cancelled for any reason within 24 hours the lesson will be lost and charged at the full rate.

Do you teach grades?

Yes, we are a member of RGT and offer tuition towards grades up to and including grade 8  in electric guitar, electric guitar performance, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, ukulele and music theory. All RGT grades are credited by the University of West London. More information can be found on RGT's website.
